RESPECT LIFE MINISTRY
DEDICATED TO BRINGING THE PRO- LIFE MESSAGE TO THE PARISH COMMUNITY
Our mission is first of all spiritual. We encourage the praying of the Holy Rosary for pro-life intentions. A Mass dedicated to the unborn is scheduled on the first Sunday of every month at 9:00 A.M.
The Holy Rosary is recited in front of the Family Planning Associates abortuary at 2777 Long Beach Blvd. on Saturday mornings at 10:30 A.M. All are invited!
We provide educational material via our lending library on the second Sunday of the month at our monthly donut sale in the church hall. We also distribute materials outside the abortuary on Long Beach Boulevard, on Saturday mornings.
We provide information regarding the pastoral plan on pro-life activities as approved by the National onference of Catholic Bishops
We provide information on pending legislation regarding life issues and activate a telephone tree to contact legislators and others to encourage a pro-life vote.

Oh God, giver of all life, help us to value each human life created and loved by you. In your mercy, guide and assist our efforts to promote the dignity and value of all human life, born and unborn. We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
Attend meetings: 2nd Sundays, 11:00AM in church hall. We discuss latest respect-life concerns and actions
(abortion, embryonic stem cell research, therapeutic cloning, euthanasia, assisted suicide, etc.) Plan upcoming events.

St. Bartholomew Respect-Life Representatives
Chairman: Dave McCaughey
Directs and coordinates various respect-life activities. Attends quarterly regional meetings. Apprises pastor of planned respect-life actions and activities and obtains his permission.
Secretary: Yolanda Garcia
Records minutes of monthly meetings and sends out newsletters and information to interested parties outside of parish.
Treasurer: Leo Poissant
Maintains ministry account at local bank, accounts for ministry income and pays expenses.
Telephone Liaison: Myrna Terris
Calls meeting and activity reminders to ministry members and maintains membership information.
Respect-Life Council, San Pedro Reg. Coordinator: Mary Sheridan
Works with parish Respect-Life chairmen in San Pedro Region to implement the Respect-Life activities programs of the California Council of Bishops and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
